Biography

Rachel R. Hayden, P.E., is president of Hayden Consultants, Inc., which she founded as a sole proprietor in March 2000. Hayden Consultants provides civil, transportation and traffic engineering services as well as surveying and construction management for projects ranging from small site development projects to complex highways and transit facilities. Rachel is at the forefront of sustainable design for infrastructure projects. She is an appointed member of the Sustainable Public Right-of-Way (SPROW) committee through the North Central Texas Council of Governments, representing the interests of transportation engineers on the panel. The SPROW committee compiles the best practices for sustainable design within public rights-of-way, placing the group at the leading edge of research and innovation for greener communities in North Texas. Rachel served as ASCE Dallas Branch President from 2009-2010, and is currently serving as President of the Dallas Council of Engineering Companies (2011). She is active in several other professional organizations, including the Women’s Transportation Seminar and Entrepreneurial Women Presidents.
