Biography

Faisal Syed is the Principal of Urban Engineers Group, Inc. He has been working in the Transportation Engineering field for over 15 years. He finished his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He later received a Masters in Traffic Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). A member of Tau-Beta-Pi, Chi-Epsilon, and Phi-Beta-Delta honor societies, he also actively participated in extra-curricular activities in School including serving as President of ITE student chapter at UTA.

A licensed professional engineer, he also received Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification from ITE in 2001 and a LEED Certification in 2002. Mr. Syed is also involved in many professional organizations in various capacities.  He volunteered as a math tutor for high school students and received Mentor of the Year award from DISD and Golden Oak Award from the Dallas City Manager’s office.   You can also depend on him to play golf with you at any day or time of the year.

A native of Lahore, Pakistan, he moved to United States at the age of 20 and now lives with his wife Nilsa and son Jahan, in Dallas.
