Speaker Mr. Mark Lenters, P.E., President of Ourston Roundabout Engineering and Ms. Alberta Blair, P.E., Dallas County Director of Public Works

Biography

Mr. Mark Lenters, P.E. President of Ourston Roundabout Engineering is an industry leader of the North American modern roundabout era following the ground-breaking work by Leif Ourston the pioneer or modern roundabouts in the U.S.  Mr. Lenters’ roundabout work, to date, includes over ninety complex roundabouts and dozens more in the design/planning stages throughout the United States and Canada.    
 
As the newly appointed Director of Public Works, Alberta L. Blair, P.E. is responsible for the planning, design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of approved transportation projects. In addition, she provides engineering support to the County’s four Road and Bridge Districts, and real estate support to the entire County government. Transportation projects are executed in partnership with Dallas county cities, Texas Department of Transportation, North Central Texas Council of Governments, North Texas Tollway Authority, and Dallas Area Rapid Transit. This month's presentation is entitled "Dallas County's Recent Roundabout Success: From Good to Great".  This will be over Dallas County's first multilane roundabout in Balch Springs.  For more information on this roundabout, please click here.
 
 
The Transportation & Development Technical Institute will continue with a more detailed briefing of the Balch Springs Roundabout from Mr. Lenters after our Main Luncheon.
