Dallas Branch Meeting: DFW Transportation Funding Issues

Biography

Michael Morris, P.E. has been on staff in the Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Dallas-Fort Worth area, since 1979.  The Metropolitan Planning Organization serves the region by developing transportation plans and programs that address the transportation needs of a rapidly growing metropolitan area.  Mr. Morris became the Director In 1990. As the Director of Transportation, Michael is also responsible for coordinating plans, programs, and projects to improve mobility and reduce vehicle emissions.  For more information on Mr. Morris, please click here.
 
Mr. Morris will give us brief overview of the transportation planning that has been done for the upcoming Super Bowl in Arlington and he will also talk about transportation funding in North Texas.
 

Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI) Seminar

 

Following the October 2010 Meeting of the ASCE Dallas Branch and as continuation of the Luncheon Program, the Dallas T&DI will hold a Seminar on “I-30 Reconstruction Retrospective: Accomplishments and Cooperation” that will be presented by Jason Crawford, P.E., Mobility Coordinator for the I-30 Mobility Task Force. This seminar will review the progress of the I-30 reconstruction through Arlington, Texas highlighting the project’s transformation of the Arlington landscape, its accomplishments and examples of cooperation that made the project a success. The project utilized a major traffic control plan
