Biography
David Batts, LEED AP, a graduate of the University of Houston, is very passionate about water quality and the effects storm water runoff has on our local water bodies. David is the co-founder of the "Houston Land / Water Sustainability Forum" that is a non-profit educational collaborative effort among local regulators, decision makers, and design professionals to explore ideas, methods, materials, and technologies related to the sustainability of land and water in Houston’s growing urban environment. He also regularly hosts a LEED AP study group focused on preparing Civil Engineers and Landscape Architects for the LEED AP Exam. David works for Construction EcoServices, a services and systems provider focused on all aspects of storm water quality and quantity management, where he is in charge of market development. Low Impact Development (LID) Design Competition Retrospective - This program is designed to not only stimulate interest in Low Impact Development/Green Infrastructure, but also to prompt local groups in cities across our region to try some of the things we have, in terms of replicating our collaborative approach and our Low Impact Development Design Competition.
The Dallas Branch Environmental & Water Resources Institute presents Dan Porter from Sekisui-SPR and his presentation entitled “Spiralwound Pipe Renewal Technologies.” Sekisui has been a pioneer in the use of spiral wound grouted-in-place lining technology, providing pipeline rehabilitation products used worldwide, based on the principle of spiral winding a factory manufactured continuous plastic strip to create a liner of high stiffness and low weight, directly into the deteriorated pipe. Dan Porter is the South Central Regional Manager for Sekisui-SPR, LLC. Dan has been with Sekisui for 3.5 years and opened the South Central Office in Houston. A graduate of Texas A&M Kingsville with a BS in psychology and sociology, he has thirty plus years in capital sales of specialized technology.
