Biography

Main Program: East Fork Wetlands Project & Conveyance System
 
M. Dolan McKnight, P.E. is the Manager of Permitting, Regulatory Compliance, and Special Studies at the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). Dolan was been with the NTMWD for 32 years. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering & Management from University of Texas at Arlington.  To find out more about Mr. McKnight, please click here.
 
 
 The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) has recently completed the largest constructed wetlands project in the United States on the East Fork of the Trinity River.  Pumping stations and pipelines were also constructed at a cost of nearly $250 M to convey treated water taken from the East Fork and treated through the wetlands to Lake Lavon, the District’s main water supply.  The presentation will not only discuss engineering aspects of this project but also the water supply benefits,  ecological benefits and public benefits provided by a nature center soon to serve schools, interested groups, and scientific research.  To find out more about the East Fork Wetlands, click here.
