Main Program: Texas Stadium Demolition
Doug Janeway — Project Team Leader for the Texas Stadium Project is the Assistant Director of Real Estate Services for the City of Irving. Doug is responsible for all real property acquisitions, including rights-of-way and easements, leases and the sale and management of surplus real property for all city departments and management of the city’s mineral rights. For more info on Mr. Janeway, please click here. With the impending departure of the Cowboys, the City of Irving negotiated an exit agreement with the team in January of 2007 to end their 38-year run at Texas Stadium in Irving. Texas Stadium is located on a 78 acre tract of land situated between three major freeways that are undergoing major reconstruction as a part of TxDOT’s “Diamond Interchange Project”, that will modernize the freeway system in Irving and improve access to the area. Phase I includes raising Loop 12 to allow the new DART Light Rail Orange Line to parallel State Highway 114 into Las Colinas and eventually connect to DFW Airport by December 2013. Phase II includes the State Highway183 frontage and will tie into SH114, Loop 12 and SH183 both east and west. SH183 is currently planned for total reconstruction through Irving as well.
