The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) has recently completed the largest constructed wetlands project in the United States on the East Fork of the Trinity River. Pumping stations and pipelines were also constructed at a cost of nearly $250 M to convey treated water taken from the East Fork and treated through the wetlands to Lake Lavon, the District’s main water supply.
