Jaster-Quintanilla Dallas and Mehta West Brashear Group LLC Merge
Jaster-Quintanilla (JQ), one of Texas’ structural and civil engineering firms, and Mehta West Brashear Group LLC (MWB Group), a Dallas-based minority-owned consulting engineering firm, have agreed to merge, according to JQ Dallas managing principal Stephen H. Lucy, P.E. Under the terms of the agreement, MWB Group’s founder and Principal Charles Raajan Mehta, P.E. will assume leadership responsibilities within the newly formed JQ Infrastructure Division.
Founded in 1984, Jaster-Quintanilla (JQ) provides structural and civil engineering and surveying services for the built environment throughout Texas and the southern United States. JQ has offices in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio.
MWB Group’s consulting engineering services include: water supply, treatment and distribution; waste water treatment and collection; utilities, and drainage evaluation and design. MWB Group currently holds several Small, Minority, Disadvantaged-owned Business certifications that allow it to fulfill minority contracting procurement goals of prime consultants and other procurement entities. Projects completed or in progress by the firm include a wastewater facilities strategic plan for Dallas Water Utilities, the rehabilitation of EF-R3 sanitary sewer main for the Trinity River Authority, design of the Southwest Water Transmission Main for Dallas Water Utilities, and water treatment plant process and civil improvements at the Dallas East Side and Bachman Water Treatment Plants.
JQ Dallas’ recent projects include structural engineering services for the Trinity River Audubon Center, which was named the “Best Green Project in 2008” in the North Texas Region by the Dallas Business Journal; and the Morris Sheppard Dam Powerhouse restoration at Possum Kingdom Lake in Graford, Texas which received the Merit of Award by the International Concrete Repair Institute. In addition, JQ Dallas has provided engineering services for Dallas Water Utilities Eastside Water Treatment Plant Expansion, the Trinity River Authority Central Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Pumping Improvements and the City of Austin Waller Creek Flood Control Project. JQ Dallas is also conducting structural inspections for the Dallas Public Works Department Trinity River Levee project.
