Your Opportunity to Serve on a Professional Practice Committee
Would you like to get more involved in ASCE and improving the practice of civil engineering? ASCE’s Committee on Professional Practice (CPP) is looking for new members to serve on its constituent committee, the Committee on Employment of Civil Engineers. Serving on a national committee gives you a unique opportunity to influence the profession, affect ASCE’s policies at the national level, and network with other civil engineers who practice in the public and private sectors.
The Committee on Employment of Civil Engineers (CECE) develops policies, procedures and standards for conditions of employment taking into account the economic, social and ethical issues in the profession. The committee discusses and may report on current issues and trends that affect employment of civil engineers. ASCE Guidelines for Engineering Grades (visit http://www.asce.org/professional/careers/) is a CECE product. The committee is looking for full members.
For a detailed committee charge and more information on CPP and its constituent committees, please refer to the Professional Activities section of ASCE’s Official Register (http://www.asce.org/or).
Please contact Melissa Prelewicz (Senior Manager of Professional Practice, ASCE World Headquarters) at mprelewicz@asce.org by July 17, 2009. Please indicate your committee of interest (CECE) and submit a brief resume as an attachment.
P.S. ASCE’s Committee on Employment of Civil Engineers (CECE) is looking for new members and would like to inform Younger Members of this opportunity. CECE believes they’d benefit from the Younger Member point of view and that the Younger Member would benefit from the experience as well.
