Congratulations to Ayub R. Sandhu - Minority Small Business of the Year
The Small Business Administration’s Dallas-Fort Worth district office awarded Minority Small Business Person of the Year to Ayub R. Sandhu, PE, RPLS, President and Founding Principal of ARS Engineers, Inc. The winners were recognized at a luncheon held by the DFW SBA office on May 7, 2009 in Arlington, Texas.
Key elements in the evaluation criteria for the award included good financial and performance standing, participation in community projects and charitable affairs, overcoming obstacles/adversities, unique/special attributes and use of minority firm’s, and contributions to high/emerging technologies.
Mr. Sandhu’s long history of contributions and involvement within the professional industry and local community are a few of the qualifying factors that contributed to his selection of the award. Other key elements included consistent growth of the company along with the development and implementation of a method called DPR (Daily Profitability Report) that enables the company to evaluate budgeted hours vs. spent hours on active projects.
Mr. Sandhu has been a member of ASCE since 1972 and was president of the ASCE Dallas Branch from October 1992-1993.
