After completing a national search, Carrollton selected Peter Braster as the city's first Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Manager. As Carrollton's TOD Senior Manager, Peter is responsible for the development and redevelopment of Carrollton immediately around the Green Line Light Rail Transit Stations. Mr. Braster plays an integral role in the City's development process and oversees projects from inception to completion. He participates in making recommendations for policies and ordinances in implementing the Carrollton Renaissance Initiative and DART Area Station Plans. In addition, he will manage the use of the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone.
Peter has over 20 years of public and private experience in engineering large transportation projects including highway, airport, and light rail systems, managing real property, real estate acquisition, public administration and governmental relations. From 2000-2006 Mr. Braster was the Administrative Manager of the Los Angeles to Pasadena Metro Gold Line Construction Authority. Mr. Braster holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. In addition to his work in Carrollton, has worked both in New York and California. Mr. Braster is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and former President of Southern California Section's Younger Member Forum.
