The Texas ASCE Fall 2008 meeting is upon us.  The technical program is high quality and has been drawing a great deal of early interest from within and without the Civil Engineering community. Whether or not you are a Civil Engineer Texas ASCE member it would behoove you to attend this meeting to meet today’s Texas Civil Engineers working to shape the sustainable world we hope you will thrive in. You can attend to listen and learn, or attend to voice your opinion as an audience member or one-on-one with the engineers you meet. Are Texas Civil Engineers doing what we should be doing? We are ready to listen.

This link will provide access for you to register immediately and provides all the information you need to decide whether the event is of interest to you. The continuing education track has multi-disciplinary appeal. Geoscientists, environmental professionals, architects and  business/engineering/scientific professionals involved in green design decisions are welcome and should consider attending. Many of the over 100 technical papers and posters address important and sometimes controversial sustainability issues. I am pleased to announce that the City of Dallas Office of Environmental Quality has made a significant contribution to this event with two Friday (Oct. 3) presentations in the environmental track. The meeting also offers a Thursday (Oct 2) evening social mixer in the exhibit hall areas ($500 in door prizes!), a fun comedy night and a fun and leisurely Saturday (Oct. 4) trip to the new Trinity River Audubon Center.

Any questions that you may have can be addressed to the Host Committee Chairs listed below. If you cannot determine whom to call, please feel free to call or email Quinn Spann, Jr., P.E.

Thank you for your interest.  We look forward to seeing you in Dallas!
