Announcements and Events:
President's Message: I am sure that we are all eagerly waiting for the Holiday Season, which is just around the corner. Before you know it, you will be sitting with your loved ones, enjoying the Thanksgiving dinner. At this time of the year, do not forget to help and support those who are less fortunate and need a little help to make their dreams come true. Christmas is for Caring is one such good program and we will have volunteers at the luncheon who will take your donation for this worthy cause. We all made history earlier this month by electing the first African American President for our nation. It is truly a great time to be an American and I can not wait for the great changes the New Year will bring. Talking about change; we will have some changes coming to ASCE Dallas Branch too. Next month, we will be launching our newly upgraded and redesigned website. One of the enhancement features will allow the users to register and pay for our monthly luncheon on-line, which should help with the lines at the meeting. We will also be switching to electronic version of monthly news letters along with many other exciting details. Our Web Master and Program Chair have been doing a great job to get our new website up and running by next month. Kudos to them both. You all would be getting the annual dues renewal notice soon. Please include renewal for Dallas Branch (Texas Section) in your renewal and spread the word out to potential new members. Remember, the annual renewal is only a fraction of the cost for younger engineers during their first four years out of school. We have been working to identify topics for our monthly meetings that will cover all general areas of interest that influence our work and quality of life. If you have any suggestions, feel free to contact me and our programs chair. In accordance with our annual celebration, please join us with all civil engineers at the December meeting for music, coffee, desert, and Christmas fellowship. -Faisal Syed, PE, PTOE Meeting Schedule:
